Basketball Recap: Cramerton Christian Academy Takes Down Tabernacle Christian in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Cramerton Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Tabernacle Christian Conquerors by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The victory was familiar territory for the Crusaders, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Brayden Johnson was his usual excellent self, going 12-for-18 on his way to 29 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Ryan Carter was another key player, putting up ten points.

Tabernacle Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Evan Schatz and Isaac Crouse. Schatz posted 15 points, while Crouse put up 14 points. Those 15 points gave Schatz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Taguinod, who scored eight points.

Cramerton Christian Academy pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points over those games. As for Tabernacle Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tabernacle Christian beat Cramerton Christian Academy by a score of 51-49 on Thursday.
