Softball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Starts off Right with Win over St. Augustine Catholic

Leading Edge Academy - GEC took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves 21-20. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 17-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Shareen Liszak and Katelyn Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Liszak scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Clark scored three runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Corynn Foster, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Augustine Catholic only posted an OBP of .367.

Looking ahead, Leading Edge Academy - GEC is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Glendale Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-1 victory against Catalina on the 27th.
