Soccer Recap: South Gwinnett Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

On ThursdayDiscovery kept up with South Gwinnett until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. The South Gwinnett Comets never let the Discovery Titans get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Lauren Ward was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

The victory was the seventh in a row for South Gwinnett, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those seven games. As for Discovery, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, South Gwinnett will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Archer at 5:30 p.m. As for Discovery, they will challenge Mill Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Discovery has given up an average of 4.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
