Softball Recap: Patuxent's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Patuxent had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Great Mills on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Hornets 11-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Friday.

Hannah Bruno made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Bruno was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Coombs, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Skylar Fink was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Patuxent kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Patuxent's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8-1. As for Great Mills, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
