Softball Game Preview: Ridgefield Spudders vs. Hudson's Bay Eagles

Ridgefield has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hudson's Bay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Spudders will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Ridgefield's favor as the team sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hudson's Bay has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Wednesday, Ridgefield made easy work of Hockinson and carried off a 17-3 victory.

Madeline Bruguier made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Abbey Hite was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Wolski, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Ridgefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hudson's Bay's offense. They lost 29-0 to Columbia River on Wednesday.

Ridgefield's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Hudson's Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Ridgefield took their victory against Hudson's Bay in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Spudders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
