Softball Recap: Central Regional Gets the Win

Central Regional never let their opponents score on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Freehold Township Patriots 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since April 7th.

Central Regional is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Freehold Township, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10.

Central Regional will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair will be back at it again later today.
