Baseball Game Preview: Sycamore War Eagles vs. Harpeth Indians

For the second straight game, Sycamore will face off against Harpeth. The War Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sycamore barely beat Harpeth the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The War Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the War Eagles in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won six in a row.

Owen McMahan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Sycamore: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 2-12 otherwise. McMahan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyler Perkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Drake Perry, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sycamore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Sycamore's record is now 4-13. As for Harpeth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.
