Recap: McQueen Lancers vs. Bishop Manogue Miners
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The McQueen Lancers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Bishop Manogue on the road and fell 48-14. McQueen has struggled against Bishop Manogue recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Carl "Tre" LaGrone III threw for 83 yards and a touchdown. Gary Forde was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Nason Rodriguez rushed for 43 yards.
Leading Bishop Manogue to victory were Cody Fleischmann and Philip Jacobs. Fleischmann rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Jacobs threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Fleischmann is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played.
Bishop Manogue's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. Leading the way was MARRIO WILLIAMS JR and his 4.5 sacks.
McQueen has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Bishop Manogue, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
McQueen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop Manogue has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Spanish Springs at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Spanish Springs is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
