Basketball Recap: Roxana Beats Maryville Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Roxana had won three straight games and Sean Maberry did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Shells took down the Maryville Christian Lions 60-41 with plenty of help from Maberry, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 50.8% shooting accuracy.

Another player making a difference was Aiden Stemm, who went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points and seven boards. He has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 54% every time he's hit the court this season.

Roxana's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Maryville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxana won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maryville Christian, they will be playing at home against East Alton-Wood River at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
