Baseball Game Preview: Mendon Hornets vs. Colon Magi

The Mendon Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Colon Magi at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mendon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Climax-Scotts on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Colon put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bellevue a 4-0 shutout.

Colon's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mendon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Mendon beat Colon 8-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
