Soccer Game Preview: Mitchell vs. NCSSM: Morganton

Mitchell hasn't had much luck against NCSSM: Morganton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mountaineers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. Mitchell has given up an average of 7.4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mitchell is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Monday. They came up short against Mountain Heritage, falling 5-1. The game was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Mitchell it sure didn't stay that way.

Sofia Poingue and Hannah Xu scored both of NCSSM: Morganton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

NCSSM: Morganton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
