Preview: Paint Valley Bearcats vs. Huntington Huntsmen
After three games on the road, Paint Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Huntington Huntsmen at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Huntington took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Paint Valley, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Paint Valley beat Zane Trace 36-31. The win was just what Paint Valley needed coming off of a 68-10 defeat in their prior matchup.
Paint Valley found their leader in underclassman Karris Dye, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Dye is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Delainey Mannion, who scored 0 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Huntington was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-48 to Waverly. Huntington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Paint Valley to 1-2 and Zane Trace to 1-3.
Paint Valley came up short against Huntington in their previous matchup back in January, falling 33-28. Can Paint Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
