Softball Recap: Lancaster Tigers vs. Wyatt Chaparrals
Lancaster waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Wyatt Chaparrals. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Sophia Zuniga made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Tatiana Price was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
