Basketball Recap: Anthony Takes a Loss

Anthony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors an easy 79-53 victory. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1282nd in Texas, while the Desert Warriors are ranked 100th in New Mexico).

Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Santa Teresa, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Anthony will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pecos at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Santa Teresa and Franklin will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
