Volleyball Recap: Palmer Starts Season with Win Against West Valley

Palmer gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the West Valley Wolf Pack with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Moose, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Palmer's got stronger as the match went on, holding West Valley to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.

Leading Palmer to victory were Laekyn Leroux and Riley Jenski. Leroux had 22 digs and four aces, while Jenski had four digs and four aces. Leroux is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 22 or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only good server: Palmer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Coincidentally, Palmer and West Valley will both be playing Chugiak the next time they take the court. The Moose will head out to face the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wolf Pack will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
