After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magnolia Heights, Briarcrest Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Dyer County Choctaws. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Phinn Waters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon Rogers was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cowles, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Briarcrest Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Dyer County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9-1.

Looking ahead, Briarcrest Christian will take on Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dyer County, they will be playing at home against Kennett at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
