Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lanie Tomczak and Jenna Vanbruaene Lead Mishawaka Marian to Victory

Mishawaka Marian entered their tilt with New Prairie on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-16.

Leading Mishawaka Marian to victory were Jenna VanBruaene and Lanie Tomczak. VanBruaene had 14 digs and five assists, while Tomczak had three digs and three aces. VanBruaene is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mishawaka Marian's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for New Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Mishawaka Marian and New Prairie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Knights (ranked 69th) will meet Westville (ranked 278th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, New Prairie will face off against Knox at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (134 vs. 281).
