Destiny Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southwest Covenant Patriots, sneaking past 9-8. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Levi McCutchan made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McCutchan was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Racyn Hyden was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Robert Rose was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Destiny Christian will take on Santa Fe South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southwest Covenant, they will challenge Geary at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
