Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lake Havasu last Tuesday, Independence came back down to earth. The Independence Patriots fell just short of the Washington Rams by a score of 69-66 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered since January 19, 2024.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

When Independence and Washington next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Independence will try to stop La Joya Community's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Meanwhile, Washington will square off against Central and their six-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
