Recap: Magruder Colonels vs. Rockville Rams
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gaithersburg, The Magruder Colonels were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Rockville. That's another feather in the cap for Magruder, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Marcus Mccritty was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Rockville's loss came despite strong showings from Joshua Burnette Jr. and Nicky Holloway. Burnette Jr.picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Hollowaythrew for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Rockville's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Mekhi Davis and his three sacks.
Magruder now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rockville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magruder will challenge Wootton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockville is on the road again on Friday and play against Gaithersburg at 6:30 p.m. on October 20th. Gaithersburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
