Harvest Christian Academy is a perfect 7-0 against St. Edward since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Green Wave at 5:30 p.m. St. Edward took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Harvest Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Harvest Christian Academy got the win against Hiawatha by a conclusive 18-6. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cael Blaudow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Marcus Booras looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Harvest Christian Academy let Obed Lopez and Ben Mitchell run wild. Lopez went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Mitchell got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Harvest Christian Academy is undefeated when Mitchell posts one or more home runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Eddy Figueroa, Jr, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Harvest Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hiawatha only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, St. Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Parkview Christian Academy.
Mathew Morrice was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Zachary Lombardo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Harvest Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Edward, their loss dropped their record down to 1-22.
St. Edward's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harvest Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. It's a different story for St. Edward, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Harvest Christian Academy's hitters?
Harvest Christian Academy skirted past St. Edward 6-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Green Wave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
