Eldorado and Christoval are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. Eldorado will venture away from home to face off against Christoval at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eldorado has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Eldorado came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-0 to Colorado. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in February.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christoval). Everything went their way against Sonora on Friday as Christoval made off with an 18-5 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.
Danielle Braswell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Ramirez was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Morgan Ransom, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Christoval kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
The victory (which was Christoval's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
