Softball Recap: Paisley Mooring Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fike

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Nash, C.B. Aycock was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Fike Demons get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Golden Falcons haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Paisley Mooring was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikayla Weaver, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

C.B. Aycock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fike only posted an OBP of .133.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-6. As for Fike, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. C.B. Aycock will welcome West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Johnston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so C.B. Aycock's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fike, they will host Northern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fike's pitchers better be ready for this one: Northern Nash has averaged an impressive 11.7 runs per game this season.
