LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pflugerville Panthers. One positive for the Volunteers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Jocelyn Valdez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Alayna Castellano was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
LEE's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Pflugerville, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
LEE and Pflugerville's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. LEE will take on Taft at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, a team that's only allowed 1.83 runs per game. Similarly, Pflugerville and McCollum (who has only given up 3.33 runs per game) will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
