Baseball Recap: Pinckneyville Beats Wesclin for Their Third Straight Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinckneyville). They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Wesclin Warriors on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brayden Cleland and Abel Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Cleland went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Clark went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Taylor, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Pinckneyville pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Wesclin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Pinckneyville has already played their next contest, an 11-5 loss against Vienna on the 22nd. As for Wesclin, they will take on Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
