Basketball Recap: Bentonville West's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

If Bentonville West was feeling good fresh off their 84-62 takedown of Alma two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marion Patriots on Friday. The matchup marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bentonville West fell to 7-1. As for Marion, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Bentonville West will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Petersburg at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Green Devils have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Marion, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against MICDS at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
