Baseball Recap: Combs Comes Up Short

If Combs was feeling good fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Tempe on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coyotes came up short against the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots on Tuesday, falling 15-1. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Combs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Wilp, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Angus Brumbaugh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Combs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-2. As for ALA - Queen Creek, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Combs will head out on the road to face off against Eastmark at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they will head out to square off against Cactus Shadows at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with the Patriots sitting on four straight victories and the Falcons on three.
