Softball Recap: Labrae Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cardinal Mooney

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LaBrae). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Riley Rowe made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Rowe was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Shelby Bragg was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Vada Allen was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

LaBrae kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

LaBrae's record now sits at 8-1. As for Cardinal Mooney, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, LaBrae will take on Newton Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will challenge Rootstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
