Baseball Recap: Hayesville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Murphy on Tuesday, Hayesville came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Yellowjackets were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Bulldogs' pitchers proved too tough.

Hayesville's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for Murphy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11.

Hayesville has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mitchell on the 6th. As for Murphy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against North Stokes on the 6th.
