Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Prep Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels in a 66-51 victory over the Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions. Given the Sentinels' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 35th in Tennessee, while the Centurions are ranked 152nd in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Derrick Roberson was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 17 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Jones, who posted ten points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

The win made it two in a row for Chattanooga Prep and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Christian Academy-Louisville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Chattanooga Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-48 victory against Specially Fit Academy on the 22nd. As for Christian Academy-Louisville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-54 defeat against Lipscomb Academy on the 22nd.
