Baseball Recap: Floyd Comes Up Short

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gateway Christian Warriors, falling 18-0. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Adan Nieto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. David Melendez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gateway Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd will venture away from home to take on Melrose at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway Christian, they will head out to square off against McCurdy at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
