Basketball Recap: Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens vs. Classical Magnet Gladiators
There's no place like home for the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Classical Magnet with a 43-38 victory on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Academy of Science and Innovation also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Academy of Science and Innovation found their leader in underclassman Symber Ortiz-Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Karina Falcon was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Academy of Science and Innovation's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Classical Magnet, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will take on the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Classical Magnet, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on February 2nd. Bunnell is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
