Volleyball Recap: Winston Eagles vs. Salem Sayers Baptist Academy
Winston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Salem Sayers Baptist Academy. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to Salem Sayers Baptist Academy when the teams met back in September of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-14, 25-9.
Salem Sayers Baptist Academy found their leader in freshman Anslee Shaw, who had 16 assists and 14 aces. Those 14 aces set a new season-high mark for Shaw.
Winston's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Salem Sayers Baptist Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Coming up, Winston will challenge Town East Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem Sayers Baptist Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge River City Believers Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
