Basketball Recap: Keith Skates Past Hatch with Ease

Keith had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Hatch Bobcats, posting a 74-42 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bears' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Bobcats are ranked 100th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Keith to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miles Hannah, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Hannah a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jarius Sanders, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Keith smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Keith's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Hatch, they moved to 12-3 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keith has already played their next contest (against Linden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hatch won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Johnson at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hatch is facing Johnson at the right time seeing as Johnson is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
