Baseball Recap: Bay Port Comes Up Short

Bay Port fell victim to Hortonville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Jake Olson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Bay Port's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hortonville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay Port will face off against Sheboygan North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hortonville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Menomonee Falls at 11:00 a.m. on May 31.
