Basketball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Brighton Bengals and fell 58-31. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Skyline saw an underclassman step up: freshman Estella Myers posted 11 points. Hannah Tran also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Olivia Stephens was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards for Brighton. The dominant performance gave Stephens a new career-high in rebounds. Lucy Chin was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Brighton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Skyline has already played their next game, a 56-34 loss against Alta on the 30th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 83-40 defeat against West on the 30th.
