Football Game Preview: Warren County Wildcats vs. Meridian Mustangs

The Warren County Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Meridian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren County will be strutting in after a victory while Meridian will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Warren County beat Fauquier 14-7. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Meridian might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Brentsville District who claimed the real prize. The Mustangs lost to the Tigers on the road by a 40-21 margin. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Meridian has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Warren County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Warren County won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Meridian 29-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
