Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Salisbury Hornets

The North Surry Greyhounds will head out on the road to take on the Salisbury Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Surry is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Surry had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-47 victory over the Warriors. Given North Surry's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Wheatmore is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Surry can attribute much of their success to Sadie Badgett, who scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks, and Josie Tompkins, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Badgett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reece Niston, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Salisbury strolled past East Davidson with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-36. The victory was just what Salisbury needed coming off of a 69-43 defeat in their prior game.

North Surry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Salisbury, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
