Recap: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Parrish Community Bulls

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sebring Blue Streaks can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 59-32 loss at the hands of the Bulls. Sebring's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Sebring saw an underclassman step up: Molly Jane Zwayer almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks. Zwayer hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gileanys Nieves Martinez, who scored eight points.

Parrish Community had a senior duo take command as Sarah Decker dropped a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds and Mary Portwood scored 19 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaiyle Lacy, who scored seven points along with four steals.

Sebring's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Parrish Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Sebring will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully Port Charlotte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. Parrish Community's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th.
