Softball Recap: Stevenson's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevenson). They put the hurt on the Fort Vancouver Trappers with a sharp 21-4 victory on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trappers, too.

Rebecca Townsend was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Nordgaard, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

Stevenson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Stevenson's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Fort Vancouver, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stevenson beat the Trappers by a score of 8-6 on Thursday.
