Kankakee is 9-1 against Thornton since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Kankakee Kays will host the Thornton Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Kankakee came up short against St. Laurence and fell 51-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Kays in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Thornton came up short against Rich Township on Thursday, falling 51-30. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Raptors are ranked 159th).

Kankakee's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Thornton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Kankakee strolled past Thornton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 49-30. Will Kankakee repeat their success, or does Thornton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
