Basketball Recap: Chris Asuma Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Nova Classical Academy

Eagle Ridge Academy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Nova Classical Academy Knights 54-52. For Eagle Ridge Academy, this counts as revenge for the 52-42 victory Nova Classical Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Eagle Ridge Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Asuma, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Ray, who posted 12 points.

Eagle Ridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Eagle Ridge Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Twin Cities Academy/Great River at 7:00 p.m. on February 9, 2026. Nova Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
