Basketball Recap: Midlothian Heritage Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Midlothian Heritage challenged Terrell on Friday. The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars rang in the new year with a 41-34 victory over the Terrell Tigers. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Tigers are ranked 677th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Batty, who posted 15 points. Brianna Finch was another key player, putting up ten points.

Terrell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Christyana Jacobs, who put up two points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Jones, who had 11 points.

Midlothian Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Terrell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midlothian Heritage will square off against Ennis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midlothian Heritage is facing Ennis at the right time seeing as Ennis is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Terrell, they will take on Kaufman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kaufman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
