Football Game Preview: Canyon View Jaguars vs. Tolleson Wolverines + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Brady Scott and Youngmin Lee are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Canyon View Jaguars will be playing at home against the Tolleson Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Canyon View has three straight victories, Tolleson has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Canyon View will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Millennium, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Jaguars walked away with a 44-37 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Canyon View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dj Sims Jr., who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and one score. Braylon Anderson was another key pass catcher, picking up 70 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Canyon View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brady Grizzell. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Canyon View got some further help from Rece Landis: he made 13 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Tolleson lost 63-38 to Verrado on Friday. Despite 62 more yards than the Vipers, the Wolverines couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Lee and Malachi Wilt. Wilt had a great game and threw for 332 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Meanwhile, Lee was balling out in the loss, throwing for 341 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 51 yards.

Tolleson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Canyon View, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Canyon View against Tolleson in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, as the team secured a 27-0 win. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
