Football Recap: Egg Harbor Township Comes Up Short

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Egg Harbor Township was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 34-6 defeat at the hands of the Lower Cape May Tigers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Egg Harbor Township's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lower Cape May, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Egg Harbor Township and Lower Cape May could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Eagles will face off against Mainland Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (231 vs. 18). Meanwhile, Lower Cape May (ranked 142nd) will meet Cedar Creek (ranked 38th) on Thursday.
