Basketball Preview: Martin County Knights vs. Gates County Red Barons
The Martin County Knights will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Gates County Red Barons at 6:00 p.m. Martin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Red Barons are ranked 123rd).
Last Thursday, Martin County was the victim of a tough 62-42 loss at the hands of the Panthers. Martin County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Gates County stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Bertie 54-30. The win was nothing new for Gates County as they're now sitting on three straight.
Martin County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Gates County, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
