Baseball Recap: Greeley West Comes Up Short

Greeley West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats, falling 16-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the SaberCats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Tuesday.

Greeley West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Schaller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Greeley West's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Fossil Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Coming up, Greeley West will challenge Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fossil Ridge, they will take on Heritage at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The SaberCats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
