Washington County took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Jackson Aggies. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Aggies, too.
CJ Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Jordan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Jordan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ty Owens, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Jackson's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington County will welcome Greene County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson, they will challenge Mary G. Montgomery at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
