Volleyball Recap: Bailey Daniels and Skylar Hottenstein Secure Win for Humboldt

Humboldt hadn't done well against Neodesha recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cubs skirted past the Blue Streaks 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cubs have posted against the Blue Streaks since October 4, 2022.

Humboldt had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Humboldt was led to victory by Skylar Hottenstein and Bailey Daniels. Hottenstein had 16 digs and three aces, while Daniels had 15 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Hottenstein has posted over her last eight matches.

Humboldt is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Neodesha, with the loss, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 24-5.

Humboldt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Caney Valley on the 11th. Hopefully Neodesha paid attention to the Cubs' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cubs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
