Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Bailey Daniels and Skylar Hottenstein Lead Humboldt to Victory

Humboldt posted their closest win since September 20th on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Neodesha Blue Streaks 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Cubs: when they faced off against the Blue Streaks back in September, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Humboldt had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Humboldt was led to victory by Skylar Hottenstein and Bailey Daniels. Hottenstein had 16 digs and three aces, while Daniels had 15 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Hottenstein has posted over her last eight contests.

Humboldt is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Neodesha, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 24-5.

Looking ahead, Humboldt will challenge Caney Valley on Saturday. Neodesha will be paying especially close attention to the Cubs' match: after the Cubs face off against the Bullpups, they'll take on Neodesha again at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
